Little John Beecher & His Orchestra featuring Betty Jordan

$1.00

John Hubbard Beecher was born in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was a bandleader, trumpeters, and singer of novelty songs. Before forming his own band, Beecher played trumpet with Lee Williams. His 300-plus pound frame earned him themoniker "The Band With The Big Front." Kansas City jazz singer Betty Jordan (Betty Hansen) was his vocalist and it is believed trumpeter Steward "Dirk" Fischer was also in his band that evening. Little John was a territory band booked by the National Orchestra Service in Omaha, Nebraska. This is the first of his three appearances in 1959.
